Since 1997 when we went to India, we have sent out newsletters to keep people informed about what we are doing, which we called our 'Epistles'. The last we sent was number thirty seven! As we embark on a new adventure, we felt that it was appropriate to upgrade - so welcome to our new look e-pistle!

An English Summer

After a few wonderful weeks in England, we have settled back into life in Bishkek and tomorrow is the children's first day back at school so normal routines will resume. Jim has had a good start back at the office and we have all had fun getting to grips with iMovies! Here is an overview/trailer of the great time we had in the UK this summer. It was great to see so many of you and to catch up.

We hope that you enjoy the rest of your summer and have a great August bank holiday. We will be celebrating Independence Day.

Camp-tastic

During June we all enjoyed various camps... Felix was the first to go on camp, spending five days helping to coach football in a village outside of Bishkek. He had a great time and loved being with friends and watching the younger children improve in their football skills.

Felix (white shirt) leading a training run!

Rosie was next, with 5 mornings of crafts, music, games, snacks and general froggy-ness (you will have to ask her about the theme!) which she really enjoyed.  Sewing a large stuffed frog and having a water balloon fight were among the highlights.

And finally, on the last weekend of the month, all four of us headed up to the mountains outside Bishkek for a night: our first attempt at camping in Kyrgyzstan. It was stunningly beautiful, with wild flowers everywhere, amazing views and cool spring-like temperatures which were wonderful after the heat of the city these last few weeks. We absolutely loved it.

Next stop…Great Britain!
